After my parents got married, they had five children: two girls and three boys. I'm the youngest. When I was one, we moved from Enterprise, AL, to Westport, CT.

From Westport, my parents took us to New York City to see plays, musicals, operas, and museums and on international vacations. My dad coached my soccer and ice hockey teams and took me biking, fishing, and skiing. My mom got me piano, chess, and golf lessons and sent me to skateboard camp.

One day on our way to Nantucket during our 1994 summer vacation in Cape Cod, my dad had a heart attack and died.

Ever since 7th grade, I wanted to get into Harvard. After 10th grade at Staples High School, I transferred to Kent School for ice hockey. In 12th grade, I became a Siemens Competition Finalist and got in to Harvard early action.

I graduated from Harvard with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and went on to work for Venmo, volunteer for Kripalu, and study massage therapy.
